Study Skills Classroom.....what is that?
A Study Skills Classroom, is a classroom in a school where Special Education Teachers can assist students with subject related assignments as individuals or in groups. Special Education instructors in a Study Skills Room focus on particular goals as mandated by a students IEP. The student getting this type of additional support, along with regular education is part of the "inclusion model" that is used by the New York City Department of Education.
In my Study Skills Classroom, we start each day making sure all students are up to date with required assignments and prepared for any and all exams that are coming up. I like to encourage my students to be pro-active in their approach to the school day. A student with all of their assignments completed, is a student that will be less anxious in the classroom.

In my resource room, students will have access to materials that will help keep them organized thoughout the school year. The only requirement of my students is to take the initiative to get better.
